The Beginning
The Space Between began with a simple request—a work colleague asked me to share stories from my hiking weekends. Thus I started a blog.. At that time, I was also facing a personal battle with cancer. This blog became a place where I explored and shared the space between—the moments that unfolded in life’s in-between places.
It was the space between two locations, the stretch of time between one point and the next, and the transition between different stages of life. Sometimes, that space was vast and transformative; other times, it was fleeting yet meaningful.
The early posts were often about physical space—the miles on the trail, the elevation gained, the journey to a summit. I enjoyed sharing maps, photos, and stories of adventure.
But The Space Between wasn’t always about the trail. Sometimes, it was found in the quiet moments of cooking a favorite meal, in time spent with family, or in the experiences of travel. Other times, it was the emotional space—the thoughts and feelings that arose in both the everyday and the extraordinary.
This blog was where I reflected on it all, one step at a time.
Time for change
After eight years of sharing a wide range of thoughts, I’ve finally found my focus. The Space Between is now dedicated to adventures via hiking and travel. All of my faith-related posts have moved to a new collaborative site, Holy Spirit Fruit.
I’m keeping a few of my older posts here in the Archives—partly because I’m not quite ready to part with some of my personal reflections, and partly because family and friends still rely on my easy, healthy recipes!
I am excited for this new chapter and the journeys ahead—thanks for being part of it!
